In Memory of Darren Levine

It is with deep sadness that I share the passing of Darren Levine, Chief Instructor of Krav Maga Worldwide, who passed away yesterday.

I first met Darren in 1996–1997, shortly after Krav Maga Worldwide opened its doors to the general public. At the time, I traveled to Los Angeles to personally see and evaluate Krav Maga, with the intent of bringing it into my own gym. That visit changed the course of my professional life.

I was introduced not only to Darren, but also to his wife at the time, Marnie Levine, who tragically passed away years ago. Together, they represented something rare — integrity, authenticity, and an unwavering commitment to preserving the true spirit of Krav Maga while making it accessible to civilians.

Over the nearly 30 years that followed, Darren remained a constant presence in my journey within the Krav Maga system. He was a teacher, a leader, a guardian of standards, and above all, someone who deeply cared about the people and communities this system was meant to protect.

Darren’s influence extends far beyond techniques or certifications. His legacy lives on in every instructor he mentored, every student empowered, and every life changed through Krav Maga. The ripple effect of his work is immeasurable.

On behalf of our staff, our members, and our entire community, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Darren’s family, friends, and the global Krav Maga community. We honor his life, his work, and the lasting impact he leaves behind.

Rest in peace, Darren. Your legacy will continue.
